Frequently Asked Questions
Service Questions
Q: What are your hours?
A: Our standard shop hours are Monday through Friday 9AM to 5PM Central Time. However, we understand that computer issues do not always happen during convenient business hours, and that our customers' busy schedules often make getting to our shop during those hours difficult. Upon request (and based on technician availability) we will schedule afterhours and weekend service calls, and we do our best to accommodate requests to pick up or drop off machines at our Lee Street location during the times we are typically closed. If you need emergency service or would like to schedule an after-hours drop off, please leave at message at our office and someone will return your call as soon as possible.
Q: What do you charge for repairs?
A: The rate is based on the type of service requested.
Q: When do you recommend that a computer be brought to your shop for repair?
A: Virus cleanups, diagnostic and repair of random system crashes, data recovery and probable hard drive issues are all examples of services we typically recommend handling in-shop. Basically any service that might require significant time just to diagnose, or for which the repair process is complicated and time consuming is a good candidate for in-shop service. In-shop service allows us to be more thorough in our diagnostic and testing process while simultaneously keeping costs down for our customers.
Q: What are the disadvantages of in-shop repair?
A: In shop repairs are handled on a first-come, first served basis and customers cannot typically wait while their systems are worked on. However, our average turn around time on drop-offs is 1-2 business days, and we do our best to get every computer back to its owner as quickly as possible.
